On October 23, 2014, at 6pm, at the Pizza Joint, in Aiken, eighteen Kiwanis, Key Club, Circle K members and thier family gathered for the Kiwanis Club of Aiken's first ever family fellowship night. The event called, Kick Back and Katch Up, was created to offer more fellowship opportunities for the Aiken Kiwanis members, especially those members, called Non-nooners, who cannot make the weekly 12:30 lunch meetings. Those members would benefit from also having a quick, ten minute, informal meeting in addition to some team building, group acitivities and/or energizer.
In addition, the Non-nooners would be able to actively participate in the club's monthly service project which is geared towards donating goods and services to a local nonprofit each month. In October, members were encouraged to donate Halloween candy and other treats for the children of Helping Hands. Several Non-nooners arrived with bags of goodies for the children.
The fellowship was a huge success as both Silver Bluff and Midland Valley Key Club leaders and advisors were able to attend and provide an update on their club activities and possible opportunities for all clubs to collaborate in the future.
