Service Leadership Programs
From elementary schools to colleges, Kiwanis Service Leadership Programs in area schools provide guidance to students and focus on character-building activities. The school organizations teach the importance of community service and give students the opportunity to participate in projects that make a difference in areas where they live.
According to a mission planning study recently conducted by the Salvation Army of Aiken, "the area’s most significant service gap is among middle and high school students who have few structured, positive options for engagement, mentoring and life-skill development.”
The Kiwanis Club of Aiken’s mission addresses this issue by fostering middle and high school leadership and community service programs that are not sports related. These programs are vital to the growth or our community and the effort to create future leaders.
Our most recognizable Service Leadership Program is the high school Key Club. Other programs include Builders Club for middle schools and K Kids for elementary schools. Students who participate in our school programs not only become better citizens but get the building blocks to be the leaders of tomorrow.
